On August 28, 2013, the teams of Bulgaria and Finland engaged in a qualifying match for the 14th European Police Football Championship, which was held on "Georgi Asparuhov" Stadium, Sofia, Bulgaria.

After a scoreless first half, in the 73rd minute the visitors were the first to capitalize on a dangerous counter-attack, as the fresh-off-the-bench Jarkku Iiskola scored. Only a few minutes later, a dangerous Bulgarian attack had to be thwarted with the cost of a penalty, thus giving the oppurtunity for the captain Ruslan Natsev to equilize. The final 2:1 came with a late score by Ivailo Danchev who secured the victory for the Bulgarian team.

Bulgaria thus qualifies for the next round of qualification matches, where it'll host the team of England.
